“Bring Him Back…” United Backed To Re Sign Ivorian Ace Who Played Just 4 Times During His First Spell At Old Trafford
The Ivorian international only played four matches during an ill-fated spell in Manchester almost ten years ago but, with the player set to become available on a free transfer, Simpson says he could be a good option to strengthen the front three:
“I would bring him back here [Old Trafford]. You have Marcus Rashford as a number nine and Wilfried on the left. That’s some firepower as well.”
There will, of course, be plenty of competition for the 30-year-old’s signature, though, with the winger’s contract set to expire at the end of June.
Arsenal and Chelsea have been mentioned as potential suitors over the past twelve months, although both teams did reinforce their front lines during the January transfer window. Serie A giants Juventus and Roma have also been suggested as possible destinations, so we shall see who ends up winning the race for Zaha’s services.
